Petra Cortright
Petra Cortright is a digital artist from California (living/working in New York) that's I've recently learned about via I Heart Photograph. The image above is created by layering pieces from nature photographs, the composition influenced by the pattern inherent in the copied sections. This image was included in an online exhibition with the New Museum of New York entitled Montage: Unmonumental Online. Though many of her images do apply the "rhetoric of landscape," it would appear that the exploration artifice through repetition and older computer graphic processes plays a greater role in her work (on a bit of an aside, her pixel-y patterns would work really well as textile).
She also has a Live Journal blog in which she posts many digital experiments and anigifs, videos, and bits of poetry and personal information.
I've become quite fond of this hand animation.

Well I guess this is the way that we degradate the pictures into a less amount of pixels.
Thanks
